Benedict Cumberbatch & wife Sophie Hunter enjoy a festive night at Mick Jagger’s star-studded Christmas party
They’ve had a year to remember following the birth of their son and their Valentine’s Day wedding.
And Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter certainly looked in the mood to celebrate as they hit London for Mick Jagger’s star-studded Christmas party on Friday night.
The couple snuggled up together as they left the bash by car, after partying with the likes of Cara Delevingne and Sienna Miller.
Sophie seemed keen to hide her face following their fun night out, burying her head in her husband’s neck as she draped an arm around him.
The 37-year-old was wrapped up in a black coat and sported a statement cocktail ring on her finger, above her sparkling wedding and engagement rings.
Benedict cut a casual figure in a flat cap over his newly-darkened locks, which he’s dyed for his new role as Doctor Strange, teamed with heavy-rimmed glasses and a grey scarf.
It’s been a hectic but memorable year for the Sherlock star, after he tied the knot with Sophie on Valentine’s Day before welcoming the couple’s son in June.
The actor, who recently wrapped an acclaimed performance as Hamlet at London’s Barbican, recently revealed how much he’s enjoying parenthood – to the extent he’s hoping for more children.
Chatting on the Graham Norton show, the actor said he feels fulfilled by the role and is particularly pleased that he did it the old-fashioned way.
‘I’ve become a father and a husband, and in the right order — just,’ the performer said.
‘It’s everything. I have a new life form that needs his father’s help in the world and his mother needs a little help once in a while,’ he continued.
‘I might go for a (Cumber) batch of boys! It’s what being a parent is about so it’s not an excuse to get away from what I am doing — it’s what I ought to be doing. After three and half hours of Hamlet, I think that’s okay.’
While the name of the baby was not officially released, it was reported to be Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch. Christopher was the name of the actor’s character in his TV adaptation of Parade’s End, while Carlton is a family middle name shared by Cumberbatch and his actor father Timothy.
