Now you can own all 5 inches of Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch

You will soon be able to own all five inches of Benedict Cumberbatch when his new action figure is released this November.

Underground Toys is releasing a new Sherlock figure, which comes with the detective’s mobile phone, violin and a skull, just in time for Christmas.

Sherlock 5" Action Figure
As Topless Robot notes, the new five-inch Sherlock doesn’t look particularly impressed, perhaps because he’s a smaller scale than other figures in Underground’s range, which includes fellow BBC show Doctor Who.

Real life Cumberbatch hasn’t been smiling much either recently, as he pleaded with fans not to film performances of Hamlet, in which he is currently appearing at London’s Barbican.

Early reviews for Cumberbatch’s performance have been mixed – ranging from “electrifying” to “Hamlet for kids raised on Moulin Rouge“.

Meanwhile, Mark Gatiss has reassured fans that there is no end in sight for Sherlock.

The hit BBC series will return for a special period episode – set in Victorian London – later this year. A full fourth series will then enter production in spring 2016.

‘Crimson Peak’ Spoilers: Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, ‘Mother Ghost’ Funkos Reveal Villain

Crimson Peak Tom Hiddleston Funko POP

Tom Hiddleston is about to be immortalized as a Funko POP vinyl for a fourth* time. There are already three Loki POPs available (one in gold horns, one in silver-gray horns and one sans horns), and in September you’ll be able to snag one based on his “Crimson Peak” character, Sir Thomas Sharpe, as well. Take a look at the little guy below!

So cute! If you’re worried about your new Funko getting lonely, keep in mind that Sharpe isn’t the only “Crimson Peak” POP you’ll be able to buy — Mia Wasikowska‘s character Edith Cushing and a specter called Mother Ghost will also be getting POPs.

The Mother Ghost POP is particularly intriguing, as it gives us an idea of who the Big Bad in “Crimson Peak” is. We’re not sure why this ghost in particular would get her own POP, if she wasn’t the main ghost in charge. As for her name, is she a literal mother? Perhaps, say, Thomas and Lady Lucille Sharpe’s (Jessica Chastain) mother, or is it a more figurative term?

Written by Guillermo del Toro (who also directed) and Matthew Robbins, “Crimson Peak” follows young author Edith Cushing as she meets and marries Sir Thomas Sharpe and moves into his and his sister Lucille’s spooky home. While there, she realizes there might be something to the warnings her friend Dr. Alan McMichael (Charlie Hunnam) issued to her about the Sharpe siblings and finds herself in grave danger with nowhere to turn.

Check out the trailer below and let us know in the comments if you’ll be grabbing a “Crimson Peak” Funko POP — available sometime in September!

Doctor Strange comes to Comic-Con as a toy

Doctor Strange toys

Eagerly awaiting Benedict Cumberbatch as Marvel’s on-screen Sorcerer Supreme? Then by the hoary hosts of Hoggoth, it’s time to start prepping with some Doctor Strange action figures.

A set of Marvel Legends toys based on the Marvel Comics magic man and his supporting cast will be available from Hasbro next month at San Diego Comic-Con. Priced at $104.99, the collector’s edition comes packaged in a box resembling the Book of Vishanti, Stephen Strange’s major magical tome.

Among the 6-inch figures are Strange in his blue astral form, ally Brother Voodoo, mutant sorceress Magik, the Asgardian goddess of death Hela and Strange’s arch nemesis — and ruler of the Dark Dimension — the dreaded Dormammu.

Doctor Strange (in astral form), Brother Voodoo and

Note for the Cumberbatch faithful: The Doctor Strange figure is not based on him but instead of the comics he’s been appearing in since 1963. (Folks will probably be able to get their Cumber-toy around the time the Doctor Strange movie, directed by Scott Derrickson, arrives in theaters Nov. 4, 2016.)

Also included is a wearable role-play Eye of Agamotto, arguably Doctor Strange’s coolest accessory.

A limited number of Marvel Legends sets will be available at HasbroToyShop.com following Comic-Con.

‘Sherlock’ App Gives Fans Exclusive Content, Voicemails From Benedict Cumberbatch

For fans looking for a “Sherlock” fix, there’s an app for that. The British import has a devoted and second-screen minded fanbase — they waited patiently for the series to make its way across the pond, for Netflix to finally stream it exclusively, and have been known to crowdsource Google maps.

Now there’s another way to geek out. The app, available for iOS, Android, and Kindle, includes a game where you join the Network to solve a series of cases, Benedict Cumberbatch leaves you voicemails with mission updates, and, of course, you can watch exclusive video and audio clips.

Unlike the Kardashian app, which walked the thin line between love and hate for the reality show, The Network is a whole different kind of second screen experience. The game is almost a series within itself. And if you have to make people wait until 2016 for the next installment, it’s really the least you could do.

The app, featured in the video below, was created by Project Factory and Hartswood Films.

**Are we cult-like?

2014 is shaping up to be a pretty stellar year for Benedict Cumberbatch and it looks like 2015 is set to be just as good..

The movie roles continue to roll in, he just scored an Emmy for Best Actor In A Miniseries Or Movie for his portrayal as Sherlock and he’s in the process of having his own wax work created at the infamous Madame Tussauds in London.

Along the way, the actor has raked in a legion of fans – who affectionately call themselves Cumberb****** – and has a cult-like following.

So it makes sense for the popular star to release an official 2015 Benedict Cumberbatch Calendar.

In the calendar, the London-born star smoulders as he stares nonchalantly into the distance, cigarette in hand, while sitting on top of a vintage car clad in a tight white T-shirt and black trousers.

In another shot, the 12 Years A Slave actor looks intensely into the camera as he sports a fedora hat.

However Benedict admitted in an interview with Conon O’Brien he wasn’t always considered a sex symbol nor confident around women.

‘I wasn’t confident around girls when I was young. I went to an all-boys boarding school, and actually used to play women in the school plays,’ the Star Trek actor revealed.

Adding: ‘I would wear wigs and women’s clothes. My first role was Titania queen of the fairies.

So much success! 'It¿s very recent that polls have started deeming me sexy. My face hasn¿t changed that much over the last ten years. It¿s surreal,' he said

That was literally was what started me off at school. Then I played Rosalind [in Shakespeare’s As You Like It].’

‘I played rugby, so I was butch as well as in the evening putting on female clothes’ the good-humoured actor joked.

‘It’s very recent that polls have started deeming me sexy. My face hasn’t changed that much over the last ten years. It’s surreal,’ Benedict told.

The calender is already flying off the shelves and is expected to be in the top ten chart entries. The man himself personally chose and approved all the photos.
